We are very happy to welcome mid-week corporate bookings at The General Stores, though please be aware that the house is quite bohemian and relaxed and if you are looking for something more formal and conventional, then this probably isn’t the place for you!
The Upper Malt House has two very long tables, which can seat 16 each either for meetings or dining.
There is an open plan commercial style kitchen for team building activities such as in house chocolate tempering and truffle making, or pizza making, or you can look locally to Harts Barn Cookery School or Go Ape! in Mallards Pike for an outdoor high wire experience.
There is an internal staircase down to the pool room and a second kitchen with baking facilities. There is also a small table for break out groups. And further space in the Red Sitting Room for a third break out group.

Each booking is quoted for against its own requirements, but is roughly £1,000.00 for the first night and £500.00 for subsequent nights. We can accomodate 20 people over the three main units. That is using all beds, using double beds as single sleeps, twin rooms and all bunks, top and bottom.
There are 4 additional sleeps in the Jovial Colliers and George Cottage each, meaning that we can accomodate 28 individual people. The price for this however would be more like £2,000.00 for the first night and £1,000.00 for subsequent nights.
Library & Wireless Internet Access:
The local library, on the High St, offers temporary visitor’s membership for loan of books & videos, & has free internet access & use of Microsoft Office programmes.
There is also a wireless internet hub in the house, with broadband connection – the net work key is on display in the Upper Malt House, for the BT Home Hub 2 9RM9. The network key is written on a card in the Upper Malt House.
Corporate Events – for all your corporate needs
The perfect venue to combine refreshment, entertainment, accommodation and business. For an informal meeting in an artistic, quirky and inspring environment, The General Stores at Mill End Mitcheldean will fulfill all your business requirements.
If you’re looking to ‘theme’ your event, we can help with that, too.
And finally, catering – one of the most important components of your event planning.
We have preferred suppliers for all types of catering requirements and work with our sister company Il Bordello (see the catering page) and a lot of local south West and Forest suppliers and food producers, but if you want to provide your own caterer that is not a problem: it’s up to you.
Self-catering facilities, buffets and food boxes can be delivered on arrival, as can delegate refreshment packages of mineral water, juice, fresh fruit, biscotti and tea/coffee.
Fulfilling your meeting needs
Room Hire at a half day rate of £100.00 (four hours) or at a full day rate of £150.00 (eight hours)
We prefer a minimum invoice of £250.00 including refreshments etc, but are happy to consider lower price points for small groups.
