floor plans

This first plan shows the ground floor of the house, with The Jovial Colliers Apartment being the left hand section.  This was converted from a derelict village shop by us in 2008.  The first bedroom on the left is the Rose Double, and the one next to it is the Garden Bunk.  This area has the large black and white family bathroom, the galley kitchen and the pool and  music room, with TV/DVD.  All three rooms have french doors opening onto the courtyard garden.

The bedroom at the front is the Blue Twin Room, and next to that is the main sitting room with three leather sofas & TV/DVD.  These two rooms both have windows onto Mill End but have secondary glazing.  They both have access to the ground floor wet room which has additional facilities such as a shower seat and grab rail for the less firm in the group.

The kitchen is currently the main entrance in and out of the house.  The room next to it on the right is the downstairs dining/breakfast room seating 20, and leading off that to the rightagain,  but not shown on this plan, is the snug.

This plan above shows the first floor of the main house.  The bath and wc facilities to the left of the picture are part of the four Poster room with free standing bath in the room.  Next to it is the family bathroom, which is now divided into two, and is the family shower room at the front and the en-suite bathroom to the Chinese Room at the back.  to the right of that is the Chinese Room.

Down the two steps is the White Twin Room, and the large room in the right hand corner is the Japanese Room.  the little bathroom in the middle of the upstairs is the small family bathroom with the Bette Sitz bath.  Below that on the plan is the bunk room, leading to the Butterfly Room with a doouble and a day bed and a sink.  This area is at the back of the house overlooking the garden.  All the other bedrooms on the top of the plan overlook the street.

The above plan shows the provisional lay out for the Barn conversion that we did in 2010.  The upper layer shows the ground floor with the Arts and Crafts double on the left and the small room, Franco’s, next to it.  It doesn’t have the third bedroom as we decided to keep the open plan feel to the barn conversion, nor does it have the internal staircase as shown.

The lower layer shows the rinky dink pink and sunshine yellow rooms on the left.  The mini gym is on a mezzanine oabove them.  The bathroom next to them wasn’t added as again we wanted to keep the space as open plan and unaltered as possible.  At the right hand end, street end, of the malt house,  the shower room became just a WC, with the kitchen moved away from the window to make space for the spa facilities.

The above plan shows some of the elevations, cross sections and positions of mezzanines and veluxes etcetera.

These six images are plans from our final conversion project for the General Stores (honest, Mr Bank Manager) and involve adding a slanted green oak and glass roof top to the BBQ area, whilst leaving it open on the sides.  This is to keep bikes and buggies out of the rain overnight, and to allow guests to continue with BBQs when the weather suddenly changes, as it is so often the case with Blighty!  This will be done in early 2012.  The final L-shaped extension, also green oak and glass, to be installed in 2013 will take the pebble dash front off the downstairs kitchen and remove the small porch, and provide one large central, social hub to the house, with the kitchen, pool room, music room and sitting room all leading off and housed within the great glass extension, whilst still leaving the historical aspects of the house un-altered and exposed.

Watch this space!
