Nick Walker

Big thanks to Nick Walker and Absolut Vodka who kindly sponsored this artwork – these are copies of the toilet doors aboard Il Bordello, Arts and Media Members only Bar in Bristol, which Liz and Zoff converted and ran prior to this. And the two leather drip and snowflake graff doors too – thanks Nick. See his work at Nick Walker and also at Apish Angel. Nick has worked doggedly at his art since the early Bristol Wild Bunch days and is now holding solo shows in Los Angeles and Paris, amongst others, and selling his work to the stars. See clips of his live graffiti work on you tube too.

Felix & Jody

This 20 foot wide piece of graff was produced by Felix Braun and Jody, at Mitcheldean Carnival in 2008. Felix is author of the informative book Children of the Can and he and Jody are both international names on the graff scene, but hail from our local Bristol. You should be able to find Jody on JodyTee. Thanks boys. When are you going to come and see it in situ?

Anne Maliphant

Anne Maliphant is a local artist, based in Mitcheldean.  Her background is in fine art, she ran a fashion business for many years and has been featured in interiors and creative magazines at a national level.  Now she creates the most amazing pieces of furniture using paint effects such as crackle glaze and distressed paint effects.  And she sells her keep sake boxes regularly at Sroud market.  See her key box featured in the picture above left, hanging in The General Stores ownstairs kitchen.

You can visit her studio by appointment when you are staying here, or if you are booking a weekend at The General Stores to celebrate a birthday of a loved one, why not ask Anne to create a personalised keepsake box with images of The General Stores on the outside, the person’s name and the date of the stay and some personal images of them decoupaged inside the box.  You guests visiting for the weekend could all place small gifts in the box, or donate past photographs of themselves with the birthday guest to be gifted inside the box too.
