jovial colliers

Bathroom

The bathroom is in a kitsch 1920′s style, with black and whiteflocked wall paper and black tiles, and a tiled floor.  There is a wc, set in sink unit and large bath with a shower mixer tap.  A large bathroom, it is ideal for families bathing more than one child at a time and has a set of foam bath time books on the  bottom shelf!  This bathroom is served by a combi-boiler upstairs in the four poster room.

Pool Room

The pool room has double doors leading straigh onto the garden.  It has a flat screen TV and DVD player with surround sound and the pool table.  The decorative shelves house an extensive selection of guitars, musical instruments and music books.  There is a dolls house at floor level and two large wicker baskets of building bricks and a toy train set for the smaller members of the party.

It features fantastic art-work by internationally renowned graffiti artist Nick Walker, commissioned by the owners and sponsored by Absolut Vodka, when the owners ran Il Bordello, an Arts and Media Bar aboard a large converted boat, moored in Bristol Harbour.

Galley Kitchen

This kitchen is now set up predominantly for young teenagers – it has a popcorn maker, a doughnut press and a smoothie maker – but also has all the basics if a family are using the Jovial Colliers as a self-contained unit and want to cook simple meals or cooked breakfasts.  It also houses the martini glasses, cocktail equipment and books on cocktails and fine wines.

Rose Double

This small room looks out onto the garden through a huge arched set of french doors, echoed by the ornate mirror standing against the opposite wall.  It has an Edwardian double bed, a small chest of drawers and a tall boy.  It is a quiet room, which gets the early morning sunshine.  It features a fan picture by Bristol artists Nell Nile, and a beautiful hand embroidered kimono.  This room can be ideal for more senior members of the party too as it is on the ground floor and has a bathroom next door, but is not recommended if they want to go to bed early and the rest of the group wants to shoot pool until the small hours.

Garden Bunk

This tiny bunk room is ideal for small children to be near their parents sleeping in the rose double, when the Jovial Colliers is used as a family unit, or for teenagers who are sharing the whole unit as a self-contained area away from the rest of the party.
