The Lower Malt House, where we, the owners, live during the week when we are maintaining or enjoying the General Stores and all the facilities, can be hired for an additional fe of £600.00 for a weekend, £750.00 for a week.  It has an open plan kitchen and sitting room with a sofa bed, with two bathrooms, two bedrooms and a utility room.

It has three sets of French doors leading straight onto the garden. One of the cream sofas is a sofa bed which can be used when this unit is hired by larger groups, and they are covered with reindeer furs and vintage textile cushions.

The Lower Malt House Arts and Crafts Double Bedroom is minimally furnished, and has a vintage arts and crafts hand embroidered bedspread and hand embroidered shirt on the wall. It has its own en-suite shower room with large over head rain shower, extra large shower tray, cloakroom wash basin and loo.  As this stunning apartment is where we stay when we are here, there is a rail of our clothes at one end, but there are hangers and drawers provided for guests if this unit is hired, and it is professionally cleaned and most evidence of the owners removed.

The Lower Malt House Bunk Room is Franco’s mid-week room, and can be used when the additional unit of the house is required. It has bunk beds and so is better suited to family bookings, but can be used by anyone.  Our main  house and bedrooms are in Bristol, and so we are happy to let this unit from time to time if necessary, as long as respect for our own possessions is maintained.

The Kitchen is custom-made from turn of the century oak cabinets saved from demolition from a physics department.  It has a solid oak floor, washing machine, dishwasher, various other electrical appliances and can seat 8 around an old pine kitchen table.
