Welcome to Mill End Mitcheldean & Bordello Banquets

We’re delighted you’ll be staying with us! Below is everything you and your guests need to know before you arrive. Please share this with everyone in your group so everyone knows what to expect and how to help us keep the house in great condition.  And if they email us direct with the subject ‘COMEBACK’ they’ll get prosecco & nibbles when they arrive for their next stay.

Arrival

·       Check-in: From 5:00pm on Friday. Please don’t arrive earlier, as our cleaners and gardeners are preparing the property.

·       Front door code: 5576

·       Entrance: Please use the French doors at the back of the house via the oak and glass room (not the doors directly from the car park). The key is in the key safe on the left-hand oak post.

·       George Cottage: If you’ve booked it, the same code applies. Follow the wooden steps up the garden, past the play area, and through the large white door. The outside light should be on when you arrive.

Check-out

·       Sunday (2-night stays): 12:00pm

·       Monday (3-night stays): 10:00am

If you arrive before 5:00pm, Mitcheldean has a few lovely places to wait, including There is a cafe on the High St or in Vantage Point – or nip down to Harts Barn art space and café.

A Few Helpful Things to Know

·       All beds are made with fresh white cotton linen. Most duvets and pillows are feather-filled. If anyone in your group has allergies, please let us know well in advance or bring suitable bedding themselves. Spare non-feather bedding is available.

·       We provide towels, bath mats, tea towels, toilet roll, basic kitchen condiments and enough tea, coffee and sugar for your first cuppa.

·       Please do not flush wipes or anything other than toilet paper. Some bathrooms use saniflow systems and our older drains block very easily, even from a single wipe.

·       Parking is limited, so please park closely together and follow the suggested layout to maximise space. If guests need to leave early, roadside parking on The Baynham is a good option, or in the car park behind the village Library. Please avoid parking on New Street to keep access clear for our neighbours.

·       During colder months, please help us keep the house warm by closing windows and curtains, and turning radiators down if rooms become too warm.

During Your Stay.

·       The hot tub is available 8:00am–10:00pm and is kept at 37°C.

·       Please shower before using it.

·       Replace the lid after use to keep the water warm.

·       Never add soaps or bubble bath – it messes up the motor & takes far longer to clean down

·       Please lift the cover carefully and don’t allow children to sit or climb on it, as replacement costs are very high.

Before You Leave

Please help us by:

·       Stripping used beds (leave mattress protectors in place).

·       Leaving used towels and bedding in the spa (or bath if staying in George Cottage or the Lower Stores/Jovial Colliers).

·       Emptying rubbish into the bins in the car park.

·       Running the dishwashers and cleaning kitchen surfaces.

·       Returning furniture and household items to where you found them.

·       Closing and locking all windows and doors.

·       Returning the key to the key safe and scrambling the code.

·       Switching off any electrical appliances or radiators you’ve been using.

·       Leaving any unopened or usable food behind if you’d like—we’ll make good use of it for local food bank & neighbours chickens & pigs rather than let it go to waste.

·       Leaving recycling in the designated bags, bins & boxes (please rinse recyclables first).

Our cleaners prepare the house for incoming guests, so if extra cleaning or repairs are needed, charges may be deducted from your security bond @ £50 per hour overtime.

If you’d like easier access to the car park for loading before you leave, send us a text about an hour before departure and we’ll send you the door code.

If you have any questions or experience any issues during your stay, please text us—we’re always happy to help – our numbers are in the folder on the welcome table

Most importantly, relax, enjoy yourselves, and have a fantastic stay at Mill End!
